I work on fish and freshwater ecosystems: I aim at understanding patterns of biodiversity in rivers and its consequences on ecosystem functioning. I specifically focus on intraspecific biodiversity. My interests are diverse and include host-parasite interactions, functional ecology, evolutionary ecology, ecosystem functioning and dynamics, the rules of community assembly, the impacts of global changes, information use in ecology, phenotypic plasticity and population genetics. I use molecular, empirical and experimental approaches.

Call for papers: Special Issue on Fish Genetic Diversity

Dear Colleagues,
Jerôme Prunier and I are editing a Special Issue on Fish Genetic Diversity in the journal Diversity.
It is entitled "Genetic Diversity of Domesticated and Natural Fish Populations: Patterns and Processes" and more information can be found here.
Please let us know and contact us if you need further information !!!!

Some news from the fishes

January 2021: Sampling in the snow.
This is a good day to wish you all a happy and healthy year 2021! In France the weather looks like a (bit) like a Canadian winter and this is great (I miss it)! here is a nice picture from the Aquatic Metatron in a snowy day.  All tanks were frozen, except those that are artificially warmed. B...dy climate warming! Thanks Maxim for the picture.

September 2020: One of the last electric-fishing of the year!
This last one was quite memorable, a lot of water in the river and in the (very) fresh air. But trout were there and we succeed in re-capturing the young-of-the year that did not disease due to Tetracapsuloides salmonae.  This session nicely closes the superb field sessions that Eloïse organized for one of her PhD chapter.

January 2020: Looking for a postdoctorate  !
My colleagues Delphine Legrand and Staffan Jacob are seeking a highly motivated post-doc to join our project linking microbial ecology and ecosystem functioning in changing environments. We are coupling experimental investigations and eDNA surveys in lakes and streams to link protist community dynamics, adaptation  ecosystem functions .
